A R T S A S A S O C I A L C E M E N T
In order to establish a notion of sharing between the habitants, we used the Arts as social cement.
We thought of a space called «ArtLab» in which several disciplines such as dance, music, literature, visual arts, etc. are represented and offered to each in the form of open workshops.
Art in the city is mostly presented as an end but never or rarely we have the chance to perceive its creative process. Through ArtLab, we renovated the parking as the
workshop area where all the disciplines are linked
to create a synergy of creativity. A scene and an amphitheater are located in the center of ArtLab architecture where the people are invited to enjoy an art performance, discover the creative process, or just have a break. As this place is known as a park for local people,
we decided to not alter it but to use the Artlab
rooftop as a walkway area.
